The 35th Derby is run and supported by volunteers. Volunteers run our section evenings for young people, raise funds to enable our activities, and maintain and improve the facilities we use.
We have a wide range of volunteering opportunities, which are flexible to time commitments, skills and interests. If you are thinking of volunteering and giving back to your local community, let us know. It is a brilliant opportunity to meet people and learn new skills.
As part of Derbyshire Scouts, we have the ability to offer a number of volunteering opportunities to Duke of Edinburgh Award participants from the age of 14 upwards.
Use the form below to get in touch and discuss your requirements and skills. We look forward to talking to you.
We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help lead our Beaver section. Beavers are our youngest section with members ranging between the ages of 6 and 8.
The Beaver section is currently supported by the wider group and a team of dedicated helpers. We are looking for an individual or a team of individuals to come and deliver #SkillsForLife to the youngest members of our community. You’ll be supported by our friendly group executive committee and the wider group with running your section, and, supported by a great programme of training helping you to prepare for your role.
Volunteering can be #GoodForYou. Volunteering allows you to practice and develop your existing skills, learn new ones, have fun, make friends and improve your mental health. Volunteering with Scouting can be as flexible as you want it to be.
We’re happy to answer any questions you have about the role, our group, or Scouting in general. Just fill in the form and we’ll be in touch to discuss this further.
Download our vacancy poster, or have a look at the example role description on the national Scouting website. If the role looks daunting, don’t despair, get in contact and we’ll support you through it.
